Story
Personal:
Also this year, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and do the Cambridge half: I am currently barely able to run 5 km at slow pace, so I need some motivation and a clear goal, and I need to feel your support to make it. It will be long months of training in the dark, dump and cold of Cambridge winter, freezing fingers, and some good post-training beers. Please help me reach my fundraising target so that all this training will not be in vain :-D
CCF Foundation:
Cambridge may be seen as affluent, but it's also one of the UK's most unequal cities.
The Cambridge Half Marathon route passes through areas where life expectancy can differ by up to 12 years between the most and least deprived residents.
Cambridgeshire Community Foundation supports vital community initiatives in the very city I’ll be running through, as well as the wider county.
By donating, you will help the Foundation continue to award grants that keep community centres' doors open, our local food banks stocked, and support groups active.
The Foundation has funded important projects in every single ward in Cambridgeshire, benefitting hundreds of thousands of local people.
But there's more to do. Demand for the Foundation's grants continues to increase. Charities that support some of the most vulnerable members of our community are at risk of having to close their doors.
Don't let our community's vital projects disappear. Please consider donating.
