Story
I’ve voluntarily signed up to run 10 kilometres… which, if you know me, is quite something. Between sleepless nights, teething, wake windows, and keeping a very active little boy alive and thriving, training has looked less like “athlete” and more like “jogging while permanently tired.” But becoming a mum has shifted something in me. When you have a baby, your heart lives outside your body — and that’s exactly why I’m running for Children’s Hospice South West.
They support families facing the unimaginable, offering care, respite and compassion when it’s needed most. I can’t pretend to understand what those families go through, but I do understand how fierce and all-consuming love for your child is. So this 10K is for them. For the parents who would give anything for more time. For the children who deserve comfort, joy and dignity.
If you’d like to sponsor my slightly sleep-deprived, slightly dramatic, but very determined 10K effort, I would be so grateful. Every pound makes the miles more meaningful — and I promise to think of your donation when my legs start questioning my life choices. 💛
