Story
SeeSaw provides grief support for children, young people and their families anywhere in Oxfordshire.
My wife, Debbie, lost her father when she was 2 years old and therefore knows from experience how important support at that stage is. She became a counsellor for children and has in the past provided supervision for SeeSaw volunteer counsellors for several years. When she was asked to become a trustee for SeeSaw some years ago, she embraced this role.
About 3 years ago I took up running again to improve my health, and have been running regularly with the Silver Joggers group in Headington. Once I got going I set myself the target to run a half marathon in my 65th year, 40 years after my last one! I ran a half marathon earlier in the year with my daughter to check if I would be up to it.
When entering the Oxford Half it appeared to me to be a good opportunity to raise funds for SeeSaw!
Whether the death is sudden or expected, due to illness or accident, or for some other reason. With appropriate and timely support, bereaved young people will be able to face the future with hope and fulfil their potential despite a devastating loss.
As a small charity SeeSaw relies on the support of generous individuals, families, community groups, businesses and schools to fund its services. Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide vital support to children and families when they need it most.
Thank you for your support.
