Brackley Christmas Tractor Run · 12 December 2021

Rising concern over the continuing high level of fatal and life-changing injury accidents on farms prompted NFU Mutual to set up a charitable foundation to help all farmers, and especially young farmers, work more safely. The Foundation works closely with farmers, the farming unions and a range of farming organisations, including the Farm Safety Partnerships of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, to help reduce the toll of fatal and serious injury accidents which, regrettably, have made farming the most dangerous occupation in the UK. The Foundation's 'Yellow Wellies' campaign specifically targets young farmers aged 16 to 40 years of age.

Story

Brackley Town Council will be hosting its first Christmas Tractor Run on Sunday 12 December at 18:00 in order to raise money for Yellow Wellies. Yellow Wellies is an award winning charity, small UK charity that is dedicated to raising awareness of farm safety and mental wellbeing in farmers.

The foundation works closely to help raise awareness of farm safety among young farmers, challenge and change attitudes towards farming safety and reduce the toll of the injuries and fatalities which bring heartbreak and misery to numerous families and rural communities every year.

Brackley Town Council are asking all local farmers/residents who wish to enter into the run and decorate their vehicles with fairy lights and festive decorations to do a loop of Brackley and help support this event and charity.

The route will start from Egerton Hall, follow down Humphries Drive, onto the Banbury Road and back up the High Street to finish at Egerton Hall.
