Story
My Uncle Mick worked most of his life in the building trade and his hobby was racing pigeons. He didn't suffer much ill health in his life. In January of 2009, he started to feel unwell but unfortunately the illness wasn't diagnosed until June the same year.
Mick had terminal cancer and within 3 months, had passed away. During those months, he carried on as normal as much as possible until a few weeks before his death.
He has left a huge void in within the family but is remembered by the affectionate term of 'Grumpy Gramps' by his grandchildren and his very quick wit by people who knew him. Mick was a good husband, father of 6 and grandad of 18.
