Donating Hair to Charity · 19 August 2022

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

Hi there! Thank you for clicking on my Just Giving page. Over the last few years, I have found myself growing out my hair. Through a combination of COVID-induced circumstances, before becoming accustomed to the look, I found that my hair had grown to approximately 7 inches long. When I was told it was technically long enough to donate to the Little Princess Trust, an idea was sparked. Now being able to make a 12-inch ponytail, it is definitely time.

When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, the Little Princess Trust provide real hair wigs to help restore their confidence and identity. Whilst the donation of my hair is great for this, any funds that can also be raised for the charity would help go a long way. Something you may not know is that the Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers, receiving no formal funding.
