Story
St Georges Hospital is where my dad was taken when he suffered a very serious stroke. From day one from when dad had his life saving operation to when he left the hospital following his rehab and ongoing physio, the care he received was outstanding and it made us realise how incredibly inspiring this hospital is. My fiance' and I wanted to support this great hospital as it deserves additional funding to continue to provide the excellent support and care to families across London and the South East.
We will be walking from Padstow in Cornwall (where we got engaged!) to St Ives along the South West coastal path which is 67 miles in total, and climbing the equivalent of Scafell Pike three times (highest peak in England). This represents around 11 miles for every month dad was in at St George’s for, spread across both his time in Intensive care, stroke wards, and his rehab and a physio before he returned home. We aim to complete this walking challenge and raise £2000!!
‘Better Care, Healthier Lives’. We are the charity that exists to support St George’s hospitals and the communities they serve. Every day, our work makes a real difference to patients, their families and friends and the staff who care for them.
