Story
On the 8th February, I will be driving to Paris (reason for this is apparent later) before flying to India, where I will be meeting up with a team from Veganuary (a charity which is very close to
my heart) and cycling around the central region (Rajasthan) for 6 days, before finishing the ride and flying straight to China, where I will be meeting up with the Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation at their Chinese animal sanctuary, seeing dogs which have been rescued from the dog meat trade in China and elsewhere and are looking for new homes. I will fly back from China with up to 5 dogs, keeping two for myself and the others will be going to pre-vetted homes in Europe. It is far easier to fly dogs into France than the UK, hence my flying from/to Paris.
The full costs of the trip are being met by me personally, so all funds raised will go directly to the charities, to help with their work. A little more information on Veganuary below:
The most abused animals on this planet –the farmed animals– are typically overlooked. We want to change that. Veganuary’s mission is to reduce the suffering of these animals by inspiring people to try vegan in January, and throughout the rest of the year.Farmed animals, just like cats and dogs, are able to experience pain and happiness. The mass production of animals for food and clothing has resulted in an industry that cares little for their well-being, and causes them to suffer in innumerable ways.
