Machu Picchu Trek with Charity Challenge · 21 October 2016

By harnessing the power of Spurs, we create life-changing opportunities through education, employment, health, and youth and community programmes. From grassroots initiatives to strategic projects, we help individuals thrive; building stronger, healthier communities in the Spurs Heartlands.

Story

Hi everyone! In October this year I will be hiking Machu Picchu for THF (Tottenham Hotspur Foundation) who will be using the money to help young people who struggle with mental health issues. The new centre based at the Southgate campus has been designed to empower people with complex and challenging physical and learning difficulties, cerebral palsy, autism and other learning difficulties, for many of whom where access to specialist facilities is essential. The centre is a key learning and community hub and Centre of Excellence in learning disability and through the partnership between THF and the College, the centre will become a leading facility for sport and physical activity across North London.

I will be doing a variety of different things to help raise the money. For the trek we will be landing in Cusco at 3,500 feet, and after a few days of acclimatisation we will be hiking up to 6,500 feet. I will be taking photos and documenting each day as we ascend and at all of our stop off points on the way. We will also be stopping off at one of the local schools as we climb the Inca Trail to donate notebooks and pens. As well as the trek I will also be hosting a raffle, having my legs waxed (the video will be posted online) selling cakes and a more things to come which I will make sure to keep everyone informed of.

Thank you all
