Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In September we three Bradshaw girls (Joanna, Emma and Jenny) will be running the Great North Run, that's a whole 13.1 miles or 21K. We are challenging ourselves to this half marathon in order to raise money for The Kenya Acorn Project; a charity providing health and education programs in rural Western Kenya. In 2009, Joanna ventured to Kenya as part of the Kenya Acorn Project and witnessed the life changing work they do. The maternal mortality rate in rural Kenya is 170 per 10,000 women. Maternity clinics, family planning and ante/post natal clinics are just some of the programs The Kenya Acorn Project have set up in local communities. In addition they provide many others projects such as HIV/AIDS care and education projects.

We appreciate any kind of donation big or small, whatever you can spare! All donations will go towards a very worthy cause benefiting many lives in rural Kenya.
