Dragon Boat championship charity race · 25 September 2009
Hello
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Brainstorm have decided to take part in the local corporate Dragon Boat Championships in order to raise money for The Maisy Rose Project.
The race will take place on Friday 25th Sept here in Marlow and it will cover a course of approximately 450m and we will be competing against other local companies to win the title. We’ve got a team of 12 paddlers and have appropriately named our boat ‘The Perfect Storm’ which is a tad ambitious as none of us have ever dragon boated before… but hey there’s no harm in a bit of physiological warfare tactical play...
The Maisy Rose Project has been set up to raise money for Maisy Rose Bolus, a 14 month old little girl who was diagnosed with a large brain tumour earlier this year. Maisy’s dad, Kevin has worked with Brainstorm for a number of years. It is a very rare malignant tumour that only presents in 500 children a year worldwide, so it is still quite poorly understood. Maisy is currently receiving treatment in the UK but her prognosis is not good and the doctors are running out of options because of her age.
In America however they have more options and hope to obtain Proton Therapy as part of a curative plan. This may be the only treatment that could save her life.
While Maisy's Parents remain increasingly positive, they also know that due to the highly aggressive nature of Maisy's illness, certain treatments are only available outside of the UK.
So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you from all of Brainstorm
