Adam Rogers Trust- UBS Charity Challenge - 24 hour 5-a-side football game · 4 September 2008 ·

The Trust was set up in memory of Adam Rogers, who died of cancer, aged 13, in 2006. It aims to help children with cancer to have improved conditions of life, and also adults with learning difficulties (a cause close to Adam's heart as his brother has Down's Syndrome). It provides grants, funding and support to charities and organisations to achieve these aims.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

THE CHARITY
We are entering a team into a football event to raise money for the Adam Rogers Trust which has been set up in memory of the son of a colleague who sadly died last year aged 13. Adam’s brother has Down’s syndrome so the Trust has two objectives: To raise funds to care for children with cancer and to help adults with learning difficulties live and work in the community. All the funds raised at this event will go towards the Addenbrookes Hospital Appeal to fund the start up cost for a team of paediatric cancer carers to work with children with cancer and their families. Further details about this charity are available at www.adamrogerstrust.org .

THE EVENT
The idea is to have 2 football matches running continuously for 24 hours. We are one of the 4 teams playing the (disapointingly mundane) 7pm-8pm slot (vs the HBK team) this Thursday at the David Beckham Academy.

YOUR HELP
Brandi and I hadn't quite realised until this morning (2 days before the event) that we were meant to be organising a team. We have managed now to put the team together (a million thanks to them) and now our focus moves onto the fund raising: each team is aiming to raise £2,500.
Brandi and I will mostly be glorified cheerleaders, and we are playing in early evening rather than crack of dawn. HOWEVER ... very worthy, and close to our hearts.
PLEASE give £10 and help us raise the £2,500 in the next 48 hours. If we get over £1000 by the end of today (2nd Sept) we will even put on our shorts and be the only 2 girls playing.

JUST GIVING
For those who don't already know, donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Adam Rogers Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Many MANY thanks in advance
