Story

We are taking part in the Big Walk for Water with CAFOD and pledge to walk for 40 days in solidarity with our poorest brothers and sister who have to walk for water everyday to survive.. Please sponsor us if you can, or join for our virtual walk, the more the merrier! Go to www.cafod.org.uk/walk for more info.

Your support for our Big Walk for Water will mean that we can help people around the world living in extreme poverty like Abdella.

Abdella has to walk 10 HOURS EVERYDAY to get water for his family.  He is 23 and he has big dreams. He dreams of starting a small business, starting his own family and of having his own home.  He dreams of not having to spend all his days walking for water. Abdella lives in Afar in Ethiopia said to be the hottest place on earth. He spends most of a day getting water for his family to drink. He knows that if there was water near his home, his family wouldn't have to worry about getting enough to stay alive and he could start on the dreams he has for the rest of his life.

Please support our Walk for Water to help transform the lives of the poorest of our brothers and sisters. You gift could buy:

- £10 can buy sturdy water containers so families can store water safely.

- £33 water for a family.

- £40 can bring safe drinking water to a hard-to-reach school.

- £66 a bike for a water engineer to travel to remote communities' water pumps.

- £198 could buy bikes for a team of three water engineers to service water pumps in remote communities.

- £750 can give a community water supply.
