Epic cycle Laos to Cambodia · 24 October 2019

This year we have launched the HALO Staff Challenge. Our staff across the world will be dreaming up epic, fun and unusual challenges to raise money for HALO, competing in a friendly rivalry to see which country programme can raise the most funds.

Story

Many of you know I work for The HALO Trust a charity that clears landmines around the world. It's a cause very close to my heart as I've seen the devastation these weapons cause and how removing them transforms lives. In Cambodia, Arya and Molika go to school right next to a minefield. In Laos, Soy was just six years old when her best friend was killed after a bomb they were playing with exploded, whilst in Zimbabwe, the village of Musanzikwa is trapped between two minefields.

Later this month myself (Helen),  and my two colleagues, Carly and Paul will set off to ride almost 1000km between HALO's offices in Laos and Cambodia to raise money so more landmines can be cleared and more lives saved.

Please donate whatever you can so we can reach more vulnerable families. Thank you!

As part of HALO's UK Aid Match 'Breaking Boundaries' Appeal, every donation made before 22nd December will be doubled by the UK Government.
