RUFC -v- WCC Annual Cricket Match · 23 July 2021

Rotherham Hospice is a local charity committed to delivering compassionate, holistic care for those with terminal illnesses and their families.

Story

Following the postponement of the original event which was due to see the RUFC players and staff come together to challenge Wickersley Cricket Club, we can now confirm that the event will take place on Friday, 23 July… albeit a little different to usual.

John has put together a Millers ‘All Stars’ squad from his list of legends to represent RUFC on the day. Breck’s said:  “I’ve trawled through my extensive phonebook and enlisted the help of some former players and coaches from over the years and I think we’ve not only got a group of great lads, who want to be a part of raising money for the hospice, but a half decent cricket team too!"

In addition to this, Paul Warne will be asking his first team squad to attend the event following a pre-season session in the morning ahead of their trip to Grimsby Town the following day, to support everyone.

John's 'All Star’ team will also wear specially designed Puma Teamwear shirts for the occasion, which have also been earmarked to be sold off after the game to raise further funds for the hospice – the design of which will be revealed in due course.

All are welcome at the event, where we will be asking for a donation on the door.
