We are running a 5K along Dovercourt seafront to raise money for The Brendan Oakes Trust. 

Brendan Oakes was diagnosed with bone cancer, Osteosarcoma, in June 2002 and lost his left knee joint to the disease.  After a course of treatment he went into remission for about ten months but the cancer returned in his lungs in January 2004.

After further chemotherapy and surgery to remove tumors on both lungs, doctors said there was nothing more they could do for him.  Sadly Brendan passed away in May, 2005, aged 15.

The Trust are committed to helping teenagers with cancer and critical illness to explore the boundaries of their abilities and to experience events that help to enrich their lives.
