Hello, my name is Brendan and I am a companion at Emmaus Brighton & Hove where I have lived and worked for the last two years.  Before that I was homeless on the streets in Brighton. 

I have had a complete moment of madness and have volunteered myself to undertake a sponsored walk from Brighton to Portsmouth along the coast and then around the coastline of the Isle of Wight, a total of 120 miles.  I plan to start on Saturday 24 August and hope to complete it in 8 days.

I am hoping to raise as much money as possible for two good causes.  Firstly, for the ‘Off the Fence’ project which is a homelessness charity based in Portland Road, Hove that helps homeless people on a daily basis, and secondly to raise money for the companions leisure fund at Emmaus Brighton.  This enables companions to enjoy group days out on their days off work
