Racing Welfare supports the workforce of the British horseracing and Thoroughbred breeding industry. We give professional guidance and support to the dedicated stud, stable and support staff whose work is vital for the well-being of our sport.

Story

Brendan rode over 800 winners as a Jockey, both domestically and abroad.  Alongside winning the 1988 Grand National aboard Rhyme N Reason, he also has two Scottish and two Midlands National’s to his name, plus several Cheltenham Festival winners during his distinguished career.

When he retired in 2000, Brendan originally set up training in Winchester with only a handful of horses. Now, 17 years later and a move to Lambourn in 2006, he has trained in excess of 750 winners and holds a dual-purpose licence. His training career has been very successful to date, not least with the stable star Dark Emerald who won two races in Dubai and was runner up in a Group 2.
