Since 2011The Andean Medical Mission has been working in the Bolivian Amazon to build sustainable eye services for the people in this region. Cut off from civilization by a challenging jungle environment, large distances from healthcare services and precluded from treatment by high cost and low incomes, blindness in northern Bolivia is nearly four times higher than in the UK.
