Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those that do not know about my relationship with Mark Beks, he was the founder of Waratah Insurance Brokers. I joined Waratah in 1992 as the 3rd owner alongside Alex Damon. We worked hard to grow the business and became a successful small business in Bankstown.
Sadly, in January 2010 Mark passed away following a 12 month battle with brain cancer - he was 8 months shy of his 50th birthday.
I turn 50 on 29 January 2016 and instead of having a big party, I am doing lots of little things (50 in fact) to celebrate my 50 years on this planet.
To help celebrate this occurrence along with remembrance of Mark & 25 years of Waratah (the business was sold to Australian Unity in 2015), I am endeavouring to raise $25,000 to help the Chris O'Brien Foundation continue the fight against brain cancer.
I'm sure everyone has been affected by this often quick & debilitating cancer and I hope you might be able to help.
