Loch Rannoch half marathon · 16 October 2016
Camille, Stella, Ewan, Barney, Nick, Chris, Sylvain, Bérangère and Aritz are running the Loch Rannoch half marathon! This excellent team will run a total of 190km in deepest Scotland on October 16th. I've checked the weather, it's got a 70% chance of rain!
Why?
To raise money for the Boat Refugee Foundation (BRF).
Who?!
BRF is a Dutch NGO which started in May 2015. It is one of the only NGO's left on Lesvos and provides a significant proportion of the medical care in the refugee camps.
In April Barney and Camille joined the BRF in Greece and provided medical care to refugees who were desperately in need. They are now the BRF UK Coordinators.
What they do:
BRF has three teams. Search and Rescue (SAR) team, the Field team and the Medical team.
The Medical team provide crucial medical care to refugees in Greece.
The Field team provide support for refugees in numerous ways: transport, advise, clothing, teaching, building and much more!
The SAR team venture onto the seas to aid refugee boats on their perilous crossing.
What we need:
1) Money for medications, accomodation, shelter, fuel, supplies
2) Volunteers! If interested check out our FB page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/785626608206224/)
