At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

In 2021 my mum Maureen passed away after a short battle with Alzheimer's.

Mum was what they call a "unique character". Everyone she met remembered her for one reason or another. She was full of life and always there for everyone.

Like everyone who has lost a parent - I miss her every day!

What is most heartbreaking is the way that Alzheimer's robbed her of the last moments of her life. It is a truly horrendous disease.  In her final few months she was not the person we all knew and loved. Alzheimer's took her away from us and also took her away from herself.

Please help me raise much needed funds to help those who have to deal with this awful disease. There is no cure yet so the best we can do is manage the suffering.

Thanks for anything you can do.
