Story
Dear Family Friends and Colleagues,
On September 12th 2014, Huw Lewis MBE & Brian Edwards will be taking part in a 100 mile a day cycle ride from Hastings to Arnhem which we have called Battle to Battle (B2B). We will be riding in memory of the 5 Learners from our colleges who have been killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan to raise funds for the Motivation and Learning Trust (MLT). The MLT was set up at the beginning of 2014 with its mission to help the young people associated with MPCT in the form of additional support. This ranges from uniform, emergency aid, tablet technology to educational visits. More information can be found via the following link:

From a personal perspective, we have never ridden a road bike before committing to this event, so taking on this challenge was certainly a little daunting to start off with. However we have been training hard over the last six months through the wind and rain – there are twitter pictures to prove this. From being able to ride a couple of miles to riding regular early morning rides in preparation. You could say we are slowly getting there by completing regular training rides with the rest of the team.
Our target is to raise £5000, every penny of which will go to the MLT charity. The route will take us from the Battle of Hastings to Arnhem visiting several battlefields on route. For those of you interested in keeping up with the challenge, I will be posting several tweets along the way @MPCTQuality & @HuwLewisMBE
If you are able to pledge anything from 5p to £500, I would really appreciate your support as it would mean a considerable amount to us. It will also allow me, along with my other team mates, continue to support our vulnerable young people.
Thank you in advance for your support
Brian Edwards & Huw Lewis MBE
