On the 14th May 2022 I am taking part in the Lap which is a 75Km (47 mile) trail ultra marathon which circumnavigates Windermere, England's largest lake. As well as doing it for the fun of it (!), it seemed a great opportunity to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK. In the UK, about 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime and a man dies of it every 45 minutes. My own father succumbed to it and I’m aiming to raise both funds for research and also awareness of how common it is. It often doesn’t involve any symptoms until it’s too late.
