Our dear friend's son, Martyn Hett, was one of the victims of the Manchester Arena attack on Monday night.

His mother, Figen, is passionate about the need for young people and children to be able to access counselling in the wake of this attack as the effects will be felt across the community for a long time and by so many young people.  

The Beechwood Centre offer this service, free of charge, for any young child or person needing support and I would like to raise some money to help them with this essential work. 

I wasn't planning to run on Sunday, but it just seems that the Manchester 10K has come at the right time for me to celebrate the spirit of the City of Manchester and raise some money for such a worthy cause.
