Story

Thanks for supporting my fundraising....

I DID IT!!            I DID IT!!         I DID IT !!

On 1st September I was successful in my quest to complete the Three Peaks Challenge within 12 hours - but only just!

My time was 11hrs 51mins

As anyone who knows me will tell you, I love being outdoors and I also love a challenge! The last time I did any fundraising was 10 years ago when I walked the Hadrian's Wall trail. This time its a shorter one day challenge attempting the classic 25 mile Yorkshire Three Peaks in 12 hours (or under!). The last time I did this challenge was on the 20th September 2013 (see photo of me on top of Whernside that day) when I was 63 so I'm hoping I'm still up for this 9 years on! The Three Peaks are the three jewels of the Yorkshire Dales and I'll need all that beautiful scenery and your support to get me around Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. For those who know the route, you will be aware that the conventional direction is 'anti-clockwise' ie ascending Pen-y-ghent first, then Whernside and ending with a descent of Ingleborough. I'm tackling the trek in the 'reverse' direction climbing Ingleborough first and ending with Pen-y-ghent.

Like millions of others everywhere, our family has been touched by cancer and, like others, Macmillan played its part in our lives. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe, JustGiving - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
