Story
Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
Incredible care and support that has been maintained throughout the difficult years of the Covid Pandemic. Leckhampton Court is Gloucestershire's only inpatient facility. It costs £3.7 million/year to run the hospice and all it's services. Last year the Hospice provided 135,000 hours of specialist care to 635 patients (www, glos, info)
It is ten years since my wife, Annie, needed the care and support of the Sue Ryder Hospice at Leckhampton Court. First with their Hospice at Home Team and then at the Leckhampton Hospice. Since then I have seen and heard many peoples experiences, which echo my own, that the amazing care and support of the staff and volunteers embraces the whole family.
It has been my privilege to ride the Hospice Sportive since 2012 and to be part of the Ride4Ryder team since 2016. Last year, despite Covid, 300 cyclists raised £40,000. This year my ambition is 600 cyclists and £100,000. Please help me ensure that others have the benefit of the care and support that Leckhampton Hospice provides, by donating to my page and/or joining us on the ride: www.sueryder.org/rideforryder
Thank you and my best wishes for your health and happiness.
