Story
Thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page and for helping me support wildlife conservation in Zambia through the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and with Game Rangers International (GRI).
GRI is a non-profit organization established in Zambia in 2008. They work in close partnership with the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW) to empower Rangers and Local Communities to conserve nature. This happens in three core thematic areas: Resource Protection, Community Outreach, and Wildlife Rescue.
Human animal conflict is an increasing threat to the African Elephant population. Also in Zambia. Baby elephants are often the victims of these conflicts and find themselves without a family. Lusaka's Lilayi Lodge is giving many of them a home and a family at their Elephant Nursery. With the hope of re-introducing them into the wild, in Kafue National Park.
The aim of the Elephant EPIC 75 Challenge 2021 is to complete a personal challenge using a denomination of 75. On June 26, I will be cycling 75K on gravel roads; from Lusaka, down the Escarpment, to Lower Zambezi NP. With each kilometer, I am hoping to collect a USD10 donation.
The world has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and the knock on effects are having a disastrous impact on our wildlife. As economies continue to suffer there are less resources available to support wildlife at a time where there is increasing peril, when people are becoming more desperate and poaching is on the rise.
The Elephant EPIC's fundraising mission is more critical than ever before, so please support me in this challenge.
I am very much appreciating your attention, collaboration and gifts! We are ALL rangers!
