Story

Hello, my name is Brian Thomson, some of you know me as the "Guy in the Wheelchair". This year for Children in Need I am going to be a castaway on Fidra Island in the Firth of Forth for a week. I am going to live as basically as possible as if I was shipwrecked.

I will be taken there by the boat the Braveheart, skippered by Dougie Ferguson and a small team to help me disembark on the island. I will then be totally on my own to make shelter and then prepare myself for the week ahead. I will for safety have a Sat phone and radio, these are strictly for sit-reps.

I respectfully ask to be left in total isolation for the duration of the challenge. Please do not attempt to rescue me with the allure of Tennants, Cream Cakes or Curry.

It has been twenty five years since my first Children in Need challenge. So with your help, I hope to make this the best challenge yet and to raise the most money and awareness for this amazing charity.

I hope to land on the island anytime between the 5th and the 8th of November and to stay there until after Children in Need Day, which is Friday 14th November. You can donate on this site and there will be the old style bucket collections around North Berwick.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and let's all help the children. Xxx
