Cardiff Half Marathon 2014 · 5 October 2014 ·

Our objective is to support families who are caring for a Terminally ill Child/Young Person! Each year we continue to advance our mission in providing free holidays for these families, giving them a chance to enjoy a break away to recharge the batteries and help them face the challenges ahead #ITLMF

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On the 5th of October 2014, we will be completing the Cardiff Half Marathon (21km) in aid of the Ieuan the Lion Memorial Fund.

The Ieuan the Lion Memorial Fund has been created in memory of Ieuan Thomas-Yendle, "born in Pillgwenlly, Newport, South Wales on 4th March 1994 and flew away on 3rd July 2007 at the age of 13".

It is a registered charity with the aim of providing support for families in Wales caring for children with a life limiting condition. The charity provides a free holiday for these children in a holiday home in Kiln Park, Tenby that has been developed to accommodate wheelchair use and other special requirements.

Our association with family goes back many years so when we decided to run the Cardiff half marathon, Daughter and Father together. With neither of us having ever run this sort of distance before, it had to be to support a worthwhile charity. The Ieuan the lion memorial fund was our 1st and only option.

We will be completing the 13miler in October to help Ieuan’s smile live on. We would be grateful if you could help show your support by providing a small donation to this local charity to help keep these holidays free.

Ieuan's story is a heart wrenching description of a young soul that was taken much too soon.

Please visit http://www.ieuanthelion.com/ to find out more information regarding Ieuan's life and how the charity operates.

Many thanks,

Brian & Lauren Amos
