Fundraising for Primrose Hospice
Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm undertaking this challenge, to run London Marathon 2019, simply to raise funds for an amazing local charity. It's a bit of a crazy challenge for me, it will be hard, very hard and I suspect there will be blisters and tears! I have never run a marathon before and although I have completed several half marathons, the thought of doing DOUBLE that distance is a little bit daunting (and terrifying). However, Primrose Hospice in Bromsgrove is probably one of the most worthy causes I can think of to fundraise for.
Have a look at their website to see the full extent of what they do. The support they provide is amazing, not only for the patients themselves but also for their families, and all provided free of charge to the users. The hospice needs more than £1.75 million every year to provide these services and only 14.6% is provided by the NHS, the rest is made up from generous donations from people like YOU!
Please, PLEASE, give what you can. My main fundraising activity at the moment is 'sponsor a km', there's 42.2 of them in the marathon and I'm looking for a sponsor for each and every one. Several have been generously sponsored already but please see my updates, or my Facebook page to check which ones I still need a sponsor for. The idea is you sponsor £1 for km 1 or £16 for km 16 and so on up to £42 for km 42 (which has already been sponsored by my very generous sister!!) So the tougher it gets, the larger the amount I will be raising for Primrose Hospice. The final 200m finishing straight is open to offers too!!
