Story
The Bridgwater 999 academy has decided to walk 10km for every recorded front line worker who has died of COVID-19 in the UK. This adds up to 1440km.
The students are either walking, running, jogging or cycling the distances over the last three days. At the end of every day, they will count up how many km have been completed that day and also add up the total of km done so far.
The aim is to raise awareness of just how amazing our front line workers are and the importance of their jobs. The team set a target of completing this challenge by July 31st.
Even if they reach 1440km early, they are going to carry on until the end of July to show appreciation.
Any money fundraised will go to "NHS charities together" which puts money towards battling COVID-19 and to help protect workers in the front line such as NHS staff, emergency services and military personnel.
