Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have set this page up in memory of my twin baby, Jessica Emma who was born asleep on the 11th April 2012.

This summer I will be taking part in 4 sporting events to raise funds & awareness for Brightest Star. http://brighteststar.org.uk/

First is the Etape Caledonia on the 10th May with Scott Cassidy. An 81 mile cycle with 1196M of climbing. Travelling through Pitlochry, Loch Tummel, Loch Rannoch & Aberfeldy. With a “King of the Mountains” section climb up Schiehallion thrown in.

Next it's the 3 Pistes Sportive on the 31st May, again with Scott Cassidy. A 102 mile cycle with 2690M of climbing. Cycling over the UK's 2 highest roads, ascending eight categorised climbs (4 of which have gradients of 20%) and finishing by climbing the UK's 4th highest road to the Cairngorm Ski Centre in the heart of the UK’s only Arctic plateau.

Next is to complete Tough Mudder on the 20th June with the rest of Jack’s Army. For those who have never heard of Tough Mudder it is a 12 mile obstacle course designed by the British Special Forces and has obstacles that involve freezing cold water, 8ft high fences, fire, electric shocks & lots of mud! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jim-ksScOoc

Then it’s the Tour O’ The Borders Cycle on the 09th August. A 74 mile cycle with 1431 meters of altitude gain. Starting & finishing in Peebles, the route travels on some of the best road cycling terrain in Scotland with the famous Talla Wall climb included.

Finally it's the Glasgow to Edinburgh 110 Mile cycle on the 6th September. Scott & I will travel 110 miles through the Southern Uplands and into Edinburgh passing through 7 local authorities and incorporating the best sections of numerous Scottish cycle racing circuits, including the A77 10 Mile Time Trial, sections of the Moscow APR and the Strathaven Anderside Classic, incorporating steep climbs around Muirkirk and undulating stretches across wild moorland.

Brightest Star is a charity that was set up as a legacy to a wee boy called Jack who suddenly died 6 days before his 6th birthday. Their aim is to raise awareness and funds to help other families who also face this heart ache.

Please help to raise funds & awareness for Brightest Star.
