Story
Nick and I will be running the Brighton Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK 💙
This cause is incredibly close to my heart. In 2024, my Dad was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer — with no symptoms at all. It was a simple PSA blood test that led to his diagnosis and treatment.
The reason he took that test? Sadly, because his brother Richard lost his life to prostate cancer in 2017. It took losing my Uncle to raise awareness in our family — awareness that went on to save my Dad.
💙 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer
💙 1 in 4 if you’re Black
💙 Your risk is 2–3 times higher if your father or brother has had it
💙 It’s the most common cancer in men in the UK
💙 There is currently NO national screening programme
While we’ve been training, prostate cancer has struck Nick’s family too — his dad has recently been diagnosed and will soon begin treatment.
We’re running not just for our families, but to raise awareness and vital funds so that one day earlier detection and better outcomes are possible for everyone.
If you can, please support us by donating or even just sharing this post. Every contribution really does make a difference 💙
A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated — your support means so much to us 💙
