Brighton to Littlehampton hike · 18 May 2023

Living Vital is an organic community food garden. We offer everyone a safe welcoming space in nature. We welcome a diverse community and together following permaculture principles we grow, prepare & cook food, share land-based skills, tell our stories, build connections & nurture the earth.

Story

On May 18th 2023, I will be hiking 43km from Brighton to Littlehampton along the river Adur and Arun and across the South Downs. James will be joining me for half or most of the hike.

It'll be my third hike in support of Mental Health Awareness Week and I wanted to do something that raises awareness to how important community and our mental health is.

We will be raising money for Living Vital. A fantastic charity based in Stanmer Park, which brings volunteers together to grow organic food using permaculture principles.

Opening up the plot to the local refugee and migrant community to create a safe place to share food, start friendships and share stories and skills. With a focus on deepening connections, and being fully in the present moment.

From growing, harvesting and cooking sessions with the refugee and migrant community and organic food donations to the local refugee food bank to workshops and volunteering days.

Any donations however small are greatly appreciated!
