"Down Tow Up Flow" Thames Towpath Half-Marathon · 24 July 2011

SOS Children's Villages UK offers unsupported children worldwide the chance to grow up in a safe and nurturing family environment with education and healthcare. We work to reduce family breakdown and child abandonment and protect at-risk children affected by conflict and disaster.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page! We are raising money and awareness for orphans in need and our chosen charity is SOS CHILDREN'S VILLAGES.

Please support us with money or with your unwanted clothes to change children's lives and future.

We are in a process of starting up our own orphan children's charity supporting orphans in Hungary! Please check out our website:

OTF – OLIVER TWIST FOUNDATION

Our organisation was established in order to help orphans to have a better quality of life. OTF is a small organisation, which is run totally by volunteers, inspired to help abandoned and orphan children or adults of Hungary. The children who are abandoned by their parents live in government operated orphanages. Some of them don’t have the luck to be in such centers and they have a miserable life in the street, in deep poverty. When children turn 18 years of age, they must leave the orphanage, according to the local law. But, since they have little or no education and nobody to turn to, they wander around aimlessly. Our goal is to ensure that these orphans have clothes and basic needs in our supported areas.

We ask households across the UK to donate their unwanted clothes to us, so next time when you are having a clothes clearout instead of throwing your items into the bin, pop them in a bag and give it to us!

Let’s make a change now! Please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you for all the support!

We are running the Marlow half marathon next, if you are free, come down and cheer for us on Sunday, 24th of July 2011.
