....I look out of the window into the snowy white garden and field, and see the birds at the bird feeders. Will our "Mr. Rook" - as we called him - come back this winter? A solitary rook who used to come and sit on the cherry tree, trying to pick the fat-food from the hanging feeder with his crooked beak. A wonderful sight that made you smile. He also came on the terrace. Like the woodpecker. Or the many field sparrows on the feeding tray in the garden. A family of carrion crows (the fledglings from last summer), and so many other birds.

Chris and I loved to watch them throughout the year and provide food and nesting places for them. There are many bird stories we could tell.

...I've put some bird seed out at the cemetery. There are three lovely trees around Chris' grave where I could hang it on some branches.  I miss you, Chris.
