UPDATE: As seen on our Facebook page, we have had to postpone the big event as we are expecting baby number 2 (a miracle baby of sorts as the possiblity of us conceiving again was slim due to chemo and mesothelioma in general) but we have big plans in mind and all updates will be posted on our Facebook page @mesowarrior❤️

As most of you know, my husband Liam was diagnosed with Terminal Pleural Mesothelioma in February 2017. We, as a family have decided to raise money for this incredible charity! For this, Liam will be cycling and I will be driving from Lincoln to Alicante which is 1100 miles in total and we will be crossing 5 different countries.

Pleural Mesothelioma is an asbestos related cancer in which the cancer is formed on the lining of the lung. It is extremely rare in people under the age of 50, and virtually unheard of under the age of 40. Liam is just 31, so he is one of the rarest cases in the UK. 

As you can imagine, this was a huge shock to us and with having a 3 year old daughter, we wasn't sure exactly how long we had left as a family. As of right now, Liam is currently off of treatment as his cancer is stable and hasn't grown, which is amazing! Liam is doing his part for Mesothelioma UK by cycling along the same route in which I'll be driving (yes - his is more of a challenge!) and as a family, including my brother, mother and our daughter, we aim to reach our ultimate target of £100,000.00 (through numerous fundraising activities).

Mesothelioma is a charity who aim to help families like ours by funding important clinical trials, treatment and amazing staff nurses who are purely for Mesothelioma sufferers. It would mean so much to use if you could donate anything, even just £1 so that we can give something back to the incredible staff who helped to get us through the darkest period in our lives so far.
