The date is now final : SUNDAY 30TH JULY 2006 7am TIME COMPLETED: 1hour 58minutes and 30 seconds I've done it!!!! It was hard and very cold. My goggles seemed to need de-misters and wipers all of a sudden, which was a right pain. I also didn't think it was that much of a physical challenge for me but it really was. At two points I was ready to give up I was soooo cold, but I carried on, knowing not only how much it shows my illness won't get the better of me, but also how much money I have raised so far. I'm not quite sure if I'd do it again and I certainly won't be considering the Channel next. Thank you all that have been so supportive, especially my parents, my lovely patient boyfriend Sam and his very dedicated sister Eve, who if it wasn't for her I don't think I would have been able to do so much training. I have been training hard and have set myself a target time of approximately 2 hours to complete the swim. Thanks to technology I have been swimming to a beat with my SWIMP3 and it makes hours seem like minutes in the pool. I have now had my first dip in the sea.
