Story

There are a few ways to look at this race but to sum up I have to say that we did what we could on the day. And we did good.

With Dave , Tristan and Brad coming home in top spots I think we can say they did all they could and with a runners up place in the team event there was a podium position.

Once again it was a fantastic event , well organised, well attended, well....the weather was nae bad, and we broke 50% of oour fundraising target which is rubbish but its not too late, and THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO DID FUNDRAISE,  CONTRIBUTE plus many thanks to CYCLE SURGERY for thier support in clothing us for the event.

There are somesnaps attached from the event and i have seen and await some others.

cheers , mike

We're back for the 4th year to challenge for the topspot in this years event. Last year we made our mark as runners up in both the team and individual(DR) standings. As the skiing season draws to a close the focus will switch to bikes in what has become a great way for the team to keep a physical focus through the transistion from one season to  the next and brings out  a fanastic level of team strength and unity.

Whilst the current athletes head the group, staff, ex-team members, supporters and parents are not just there to make up the numbers. The 83 mile course will present a challenge to all however the training is already in full swing.

Athletes and staff will embark on a 2 week post/ pre season training camp from their base in Zell am See to put volume to their technical training leading into the 2012 season. On the back of this , with the current burst of warm weather the bikes will be out and the Grossglockner pass( Austrias highest) is just up the road.

IMG mass events have been sponsoring our entry into the event and we thank them for thier support, and we love starting at the front of 3000 keen beans. However, our main aim is to award Macmillan with a healthy sum at the end of it all. I think this fight has touched us all and that we can all relate personally to the great work that they do. It is a challenge for any sportsperson  to ask for aid on the back of all the generous  supporters out here that keep the athletes on the road but this is something above and beyond a plea for assistance and we ask you to give generously.

UPDATE- Thanks to all who contributed to the donations made in the finish areas of the British Champs in Meribel this week. With  the help of the organisers/ family/ friends and athletes we were able to raise  370 euros in 2 days.

thanks for your support.
