A year ago I lost my longest and dearest friend,

my mum. 

For those that don't know, my mum suffered most of her life from illness and went through a long struggle with lung cancer before losing the battle. Despite her struggles she always put her kids first (all five of us!). 

I do loads of race events and it is about time I officially fundraise for one of them. This year I have a good reason too. My awesome dad is coming to visit this summer and at the age of 73 he has been roped-in to do Total Warrior with us in the Lake District! 

I'm fundraising for Marie Curie (UK). This wonderful charity helps support those living with terminal illnesses. My sister-in-law can testify to the amazing work they do, as they supported her through her own battle with cancer. 

My dad is fundraising for Lungevity (USA): https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/neilhwilliams. This charity funds research into lung cancer treatment, which will help those diagonised to live longer and better lives.
