Crossing Over Water is a challenge event for all abilities. The aim of this challenge is to find a method of crossing water (swimming, crossing bridges, etc.) to stand in solidarity with the difficult journeys made by refugees and asylum seekers.

Story

Alison, Ann, Cath, Sarah, Wendy and Woo are taking on The Great River Race. It’s London’s rowing marathon - 21.6 miles from the Isle of Dogs to Richmond - through central London, under all the iconic bridges.

This is 4 times as far as we usually row……

We are Crossing Over Water to stand in solidarity with refugees and asylum seekers who have had to make difficult and perilous journeys across water. We are rowing a distance similar to the English Channel - but in a river, with a sturdy craft and safety boats at hand!

This is raising money for Freedom from Torture, who support survivors of torture and campaign for change.
