Story
As some of you may know I'm a qualified Cognitive Hypnotherapist and trained with the Quest Institute. I'm currently taking the Master Practitioner course and as part of a group of 'Questies' I'm running to support this small but deserving charity. So who are CHECT and what do they do?
Retinoblastoma (Rb) is a fast-growing eye cancer which develops in the cells of the retina of babies and young children, usually under the age of six. Rb has one of the best cure rates of all childhood cancers and there are a number of treatments available IF DETECTED EARLY ENOUGH. In the UK about 98% of children survive Rb. Around 70% of children with Rb in one eye (unilateral) will need to have their removed to save their life, and children with both eyes affected may have a visual impairment for life.
Early diagnosis is vital to ensure the best chances of preserving a child's vision, and their life. Everyone should know that children can get cancer in their eyes and what the signs are, so CHECT work hard to raise awareness of Rb. They target health professionals with information about this rare cancer, which can help them to make an early referral.
So I'd really appreciate any donation, no matter how large, to support them. In return I have to get out of bed early at least three times a week until the race, come rain or shine, to have some chance of finishing it.
Please look into what CHECT are doing by looking at their website.
You can help make a difference.
