WHAT IS MND?

Motor neurone disease is the name given to a group of diseases in which the nerve cells - neurones - controlling the muscles that enable us to move, speak, breathe and swallow; undergo degeneration and die.

HOW DO MNDAWA HELP?

- Equipment (such as wheelchairs, electric beds and communication devices)

- Care coordination

- Emotional support (i.e. health professionals liaising regularly with those diagnosed and their families)

- Education

- Support groups and programs

- Funding for medical trials

- Contributing to MND research
