Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. On 13th April I ran the London Marathon – the first marathon I have run for 8 years and, sadly, my last marathon as a sprightly forty-something! Despite apocalyptic weather conditions I managed to complete the course in an entirely creditable 5 hours, 37 minutes and 15 seconds.
I ran in support of PARC, the Play and Resource Centre, a charity based in Braintree,Essex, of which I am proud to be a patron. There is a brief statement about what PARC does on this page but if you want to know more then take a look at http://www.parc-essex.org/
Georgina Rhymes and the whole team at PARC have put a colossal amount of effort into fundraising for the new building project and, of course, providing such a great service to all of the children and their families who already use the existing facilities.
But don’t just take it from me. David Cameron has also congratulated the team at PARC on their efforts, saying, “It is great to see the range of services that will be available to children with disabilities, and I am sure all your work will continue to give enjoyment to many children as well as providing valuable respite care for families.”
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Parc (Essex) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
