For years I have supported my dear friend Shane's quest to raise money for Special Olympics Montana by plunging into a frozen Whitefish Lake. We had a mutual love of Whitefish Winter Carnival and we always started the party at the Penguin Plunge. The Special Olympics is a cause he held near and dear to his heart, but I was always happy to "throw money at it," donating to his page, and helping to stock the bar and feed the masses that he and James welcomed at their home. I swore I'd never jump. But things change. They changed in an instant for all of us who loved Shane and I feel called to carry the torch.
