He will be a mascot for ICE members who support and promote charities that use engineering knowledge and skills to make life better for people and communities around the world.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="line-height: normal; margin: 5.2pt 5.2pt 12pt 46.35pt; mso-add-space: auto;"><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: black; font-size: 10pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">On 9th April 2011, Brunel the Bear will set off from ICE Headquarters in Westminster, London on a sponsored tour of the United Kingdom. On his Big Journey he will visit civil engineering structures such as bridges, buildings and railways that were all planned, designed and constructed by Civil Engineers. Each stage of the Big Journey will be led by teams of civil engineers who must travel by non-fossil fuelled powered methods. Participants on each stage of the Big Journey will raise funds for an engineering charity.</span></p>

<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="line-height: normal; margin: 5.2pt 5.2pt 12pt 46.35pt; mso-add-space: auto;"><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: black; font-size: 10pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">The plan is to walk from Princetown to Plymouth Hoe (around 20 miles). The majority of the walk will be on open moorland and some minor roads.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="line-height: normal; margin: 5.2pt 5.2pt 12pt 46.35pt; mso-add-space: auto;"><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: black; font-size: 10pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Starting on the Abbot's Way due south from Princetown we will follow a path to the outskirts of Sheepstor village. The route then crosses Lynch Common and Wigford Down before reaching the Dewerstone Rock. From the Dewerstone we will link into the Plym Valley Cycle Path through Cann Woods to Coypool and Saltram House. We will walk along the edge of the Plym Estuary to Laira Bridge before following Laira Bridge road into Plymouth, passing the Barbican and on to the Hoe.</span><strong><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: black; font-size: 10pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';" lang="EN-GB"> </span></strong></p>
