Inspired by the former Wales striker’s own battle against testicular cancer, the John Hartson Foundation aims to increase awareness of the disease and raise much-needed funds to support those whose lives are affected by cancer. Men, women, children and families. So please, give what you can afford.

Story

I am climbing Britain's highest mountain Ben Nevis in memory of my sister Donna who sadly passed away in 2010. She was an amazing person and an inspiration to us all. I feel this is a fitting and exciting challenge to help raise money for a cause I'm sure she would have supported had she been around.

I decided on this challenge after reading John Hartson's Biography "Please Don't Go". In his book, John, his wife and sister give an emotional and inspirational account of John's battle with Testicular Cancer, which spread to his brain and lungs. Having seen at first hand Donna's struggle with cancer, I could relate to what John's family were going through. John fortunately made a remarkable recovery, and a year after his time in hospital he decided to climb Ben Nevis for his foundation. He has done this every year since along with hundreds of others.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and I hope to do Donna and all my sponsors proud.
