Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We set up this fundraising page in 2012 after the last Bollocks to Poverty gig. ActionAid was a charity close to Beccy's heart and if she was here she would be supporting their work to protect and empower women and girls living in poverty. On 9 September 2018 we held a service to remember Beccy and collected donations for ActionAid.
Beccy Taylor tragically died in a car crash on 9 September 2008, aged 18. Her friends and family decided to celebrate her life with a gig in her home town of Northampton which took place in January 2009. Following a sixth gig in 2012 they have raised an amazing £23,000 (including giftaid) for ActionAid, which right now is being used on priority projects to provide clean water for school children in Sierra Leone and Uganda, school gardens in Malawi, two education projects in Kenya and support for families with HIV/AIDs in Burundi.
We are not planning any more gigs and instead we are going to personally donate to ActionsAid's priority project in Sierra Leone. http://www.actionaid.org.uk/support-a-project/sierra-leone-improving-education-for-children
