We fund vital medical equipment and support to improve life for sick children in Sussex

Story

Brighton and Sussex Medical School's (BSMS) Paediatric Society is a student led society and has been established for eight years. Our aim is to provide opportunities for Medical Students to explore the Paediatric Specialty. Whilst organising educational events, the majority of our efforts go towards fundraising for charity. This year we are continuing to raise money for a local Brighton charity: Rockinghorse Children's Charity.

Rockinghorse Children's Charity aims to provide improved healthcare services to sick children throughout Sussex. As medical students we spend a lot of time training at the Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) and Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) so supporting a local charity that directly impacts and benefits healthcare delivery in children remains important to us. Rockinghorse is the official fundraising charity affiliated with the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital at RSCH and Special Care Baby Unit at PRH in Sussex where a vast amount of money is donated towards life-saving cutting edge medical equipment and ensuring children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs.
